The Communications Division provides full 24-hour emergency communications services to the City of Biddeford Police and Fire/Rescue Departments. Additionally,
they provide communication services to the Public Works Department during snow emergencies.
Biddeford is the primary answering point (PSAP) for Enhanced 911 service to residents of the City of Biddeford, Maine.
All dispatchers are Certified Terminal Operators (CTO) by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and the Maine State Police.
They are all certified Emergency Medical Dispatchers (EMD) by the National
Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatchers. At least two dispatchers are on-duty
in the Communications Center, 24 hours a day.
Supporting dispatch and information services is Records and Computer Aided Dispatch software by Information Management Corporation, running on a Windows
Server LAN.
